The truth must always be ALOUD
Our mission at the ALOUD Fund is to protect those who strive to report the news accurately and honestly. We offer legal defense funding to independent journalists and small media outlets to offset costs associated with litigation.
WHO is eligible for funding?
Independent pro-democracy news outlets, investigative journalists, and reporters. Priority will be based on credentials, the evidenced threat of censorship, wrongful prosecutions, frivolous defamation lawsuits, financial need, and the general impact on the continuation of a free press. Recipients are subject to review by the Board of Directors, who shall have full discretion as to who receives the funds, as well as the determination of the dollar amount of the reward.
WHO are the founders?
We, the people, have the power to maintain a free press and a functioning democracy, while stamping out censorship. The Aloud Fund was founded by ordinary people. We encourage folks like us to duplicate our efforts by establishing similar legal defense funds throughout the country.
WHO should donate to The Aloud Fund?
Donations of any amount are critical in keeping the truth ALOUD. We welcome donations from individuals and private, non-corporate foundations determined to preserve our democracy through free speech and a free press.
